In the first round of the 2025 Australian Open men's singles, 19-year-old Shang Juncheng faced Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz. Shang Juncheng retired from the match due to right leg discomfort while trailing 6-7(1), 2-5, unfortunately exiting in the first round.
